There's nothing worse than being a forgotten face.
It was a forgotten race, you ran faster than your usual pace.
Just to see if you'd be more comfortable at his place.
His face... greeted you with an open door..
You spent countless nights on his couch,
but never saw the rugs that accented his bedroom floor.
You'd never beg for more unwilling to play the nuisance,
or simply even someone who cared.
Your heart was always present,
but your mind never really allowed you to be there.
In result, your love was invisible.
And although you'd wake up with traces of his breath
staining your lips from your dreams,
he would never know
You two would never go forward...
The rejection you anticipated he stole from you
and made it his own.
Not understanding how he felt such a connection
looking into your eyes, but your actions were like
static through a wireless phone.
It just didn't make sense.
After rounds of passionate love making,
you'd remove your heart and throw on your shoes.
Ready to play the "it was just sex" role...
while he painfully played the fool.
Undoubtedly, his pain was yours.
while he painfully played the fool.
Undoubtedly, his pain was yours.
And while trying to win this game of love
you lost sight and fell off the course
So he just stopped running...
and gave up on the race.
And you just became one of many..
another forgotten face.
