Speaking of music.... ive kind of had mixed feelings about what's considered to be "real music" and what's "fake." Would fake even be the right term? Hmm for example.. Soulja Boy... im sure everyone knew he was going to be made fool of first lol... Can you honestly say that his music is not "real" I wouldn't label him a rapper because RAP is Rhythm and Poetry.... but according to society now a days he would be classified under RAP and/or HIP HOP. hence the term "HIP HOP IS DEAD." we all know who they believe the murderers to be.. "crank dat..."
I always believed music is music. drums are drums.... violins are violins... beats are... shit... BEATS... and soulja boy has some preeettttyyyyy dope beats i can NOT deny :-) But I haaaaaaaaaaaaate his lyrics! What the FUCK is he talking about!?!?!?! SOo... here's my dilemma.... how do I categorize him? maybe that's the problem... CATEGORIES.. psh...from this moment on im CATEGORY K!!!! (k=killer) yes killER! lol. Or maybe not. I dont know. What's hip hop? What's Pop? What's Rock? are there set definitions? It's a sticky subject if u reallly break it down. Most people will SAY "fuck soulja boy.. he kills hip hop.. he's weak...etc.etc." But then again... why has he made it this gotdamn far? we're the ones downloading music, buying cds, voting on BET, MTV, and so on.... soo he must be doing something right.... right? ... right? fuck... i want to say wrong but my lips or better yet my fingers won't let me... psh... moving on.

but if you think back to some classic "dance" rap tunes, you got the Humpty Dance that can MOS DEF be riveled by Soulja Boy.
So, in a way, the Soulja Boy concept isn't new....
